Importing Coloring Pages to Procreate

tutorial tuesday Jan 21, 2020

Procreate is the best drawing app for the iPad if you're on a budget, hands down! It's $10 (one time, not a subscription) and you can illustrate, doodle, create animations and more. Today, I'm showing you how to upload the coloring pages in the Nerky Art Club to color them digitally in Procreate.

Every month, in addition to monthly themed lessons and free-paint tutorials, you also get at least 3 coloring pages, one of which is always a calendar page. YES. A calendar page! Like, for the month. Write down your appointments, and also color a little bit.

If you're reading this on the DL and can't play the video, here are the steps:

  1. Save your coloring page JPG to your photos, or save the PDF to your files.
  2. Open a new 8.5x11" file in Procreate.
  3. Tap the wrench icon at the top.
  4. Tap "Add".
  5. Tap "Insert a Photo" or "Insert a File", depending on which one you saved. It will pop in there, easy as pie.
  6. From there, use the color selector to choose your color and color from there, either by color dropping into each open area, or by adding a new layer and coloring in a traditional sense.

This month in the Nerky Art Club, we're learning the basics. Basic painting technique, color and shading. Check my Instagram highlight for a peek, or jump in and join the fun -->

Next month's lessons are dropping February 4 and it's All. Things. Flowers. Well, Flowers 101 is what it's called and I'm going to teach you how to paint flowers!
