Catch DIY, painting or home tutorials on Tutorial Tuesdays. What can I say, I like to alliterate.
And if you want to learn to paint in an easy to follow way - check out the Nerky Art Club.
I love a fun mural. You want flamingos in your guest bathroom? IGOTCHU. Here's the thing - painting in a bathroom has different rules than painting in a common area. For instance, you have to consider the size of the room and how it will look in the reflection of the mirror.
Coincidentally, I just showed the Nerky Art Club kids members an easy way to paint flamingos this month. Not in the club? Check it out here.
The walls in this bathroom were already a pale green, and it's a fairly small...
Check out this BALLER mural for a huge baseball fan. Really knocked it out of the park with this one. Home run.
Murals and puns? I've got it all. Here's the full view:
If you're local to Dallas and in the market for a happy wall - for businesses or home - read more here or slide into my inbox and we can chat about it!
And if you're NOT local to Dallas, then...have paint, will travel.
Check out this cute, simple mural done for a new baby's room! Obviously he should be named Hunter. Or Forrest. Or...Mountain..?
The full scale here, because the wall is longer than my camera lens:
Before, the whole room was a tan color, so the mural accent wall added a fun flair, but as a special service I painted the rest of the walls the lightest green color of the mural to brighten it up a bit.
If you're local to Dallas and in the...
It's Tutorial Tuesday and with Valentine's Day coming up, here's a quick way you can add a rose to the love notes you'll be writing.
Start with the bottom-most petal of the rose and move up and in and you go, finishing the flower with the overlapping back petals. Add the stem and leaves last. Make sure your petals come to a slight rounded point, and that's it! Now you can add some zhuzh to your love notes, or maybe just to your notebook while you're on conference calls.

Friends, The Nerky Art Club is opening in ONE WEEK! I pushed back the launch for 2 months for 2 reasons. First, I revamped my entire idea. Literally from the ground up. It's more robust and has more tutorials, more exercises, more everything. I'm pretty pumped about it, and I hope you are too! You can learn more here, and I can't wait for you to see it!
My second reason is that I didn't have the brain power to create something as big as this, as quickly as I could in the past. I wanted to...
For the first time ever, I participated in Inktober this year. Inktober is an unoffical daily drawing challenge for the month of October. The only rule is you have to draw with ink – as in pens. It was started in 2009 by Jake Parker and blossomed into a huge deal among artists. Honestly it’s pretty cool and there are some truly dope pieces of art that come out of it every year, but more importantly there is so much positivity and encouragement around the challenge.

Friends, I’m in the process of transitioning my site to a new platform and all new site (same link and same blog, just more other stuff!) and I’m very excited, but also very busy and my posting frequency has suffered. However, here I am on this lovely Monday with a very exciting information dump.
I really sold that, huh?
First, I pitched a mural painting to Alt Summit and I need your vote! First of all, I hate asking for votes, but second of all,...

May the fourth be with you. Star Wars Day. Y’all, Jason was a yuuuuuuuge Star Wars fan. A giant nerdy kid in a man’s body. I love Star Wars too, but he loved it more. He was the Han to my Leia, the Empire to my Rebel. That’s why this day was the day I knew I wanted to get my tattoo.
We were dating and living in separate houses when The Force Awakens came out. I remember the online system to buy tickets at Alamo Drafthouse went down the day...

When I decided to start blogging again, I said I would make my mental health priority numero uno. I told myself I wouldn't stress out if I couldn't get a post up and that I wouldn't commit to posting any certain number of times per week/month. After all, this blog doesn't pay my bills, mkayyyy. When it does, different story. Til then, I'll post when I feel like it and say what I want to say and do it on my own terms in a way that works for me and hopefully...
